Intervention

Intervention

The intervention program is designed to provide students with a variety of opportunities to enhance their success and experience at Atwater High School.

For details about intervention, see below...

  • Academic support is designed to afford at-risk students with opportunities to improve academic achievement and classroom behavior.

*For more information, please contact a member or our administrative team.

  • Homeroom is an intervention support that provides students with access to extra help in academic areas where they are struggling. It is also designed to provide enrichment for ALL students through our teacher office hours program.

    DETAILS

    • Every five weeks, students who have at least one "F" are assigned to a homeroom period for a class that they are failing. Students who improve their grades are able to be reassigned to extended lunch.
    • Students who are not failing a class are assigned to extended lunch.
    • ALL students are encouraged to use homeroom as an enrichment opportunity (make up tests, get extra help, study, etc.). All teachers maintain office hours during the homeroom period for this purpose.
    • Homeroom occurs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays throughout the school year. (Wednesday's are faculty collaboration days)
