“Behind him, across vast distances of space and time, from the place he had left, he thought he heard music too. But perhaps it was only an echo.” ~ Lois Lowry, The Giver
Do you love books? So do we! The AHS Book Club meets at least once a month in the library project room. The club prepares for and competes in the annual MUHSD Battle of the Books competition. Students of all reading abilities and interests are encouraged to join! This is not your grandmother's book club! Join us for fun and friendly competition! Please contact librarian Mr. Harding at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Book Club elections will be held in September 2017. The following positions will be filled:
- Vice President
Club officers are expected to manage the day-to-day functions of the Book Club (scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, taking and submitting meeting minutes, developing a budget, accounting of funds, fundraising, etc.). Faculty adviser Mr. Harding will serve as an oversight and advisory role only. Students interested in club leadership must be willing to undertake the responsibilities associated with serving in a leadership role. Recall elections will be held at the request of the club membership under a quorum vote should elected leaders fail to effectively perform their duties.
